What can I do about my problem?

I have recently become openly gay at my schl, I lost some friends, made some... u know the story... everyone makes fun of me 4 liking things like because I like Call Of Duty and GTA and watch action films and like weapons and talk like a 'gangsta' and they all act like, 'ewww!, im not playing that any more cuz ******* play it!' this really pisses me of, i guess wat i'm sayin' is 1, how can I deal with and are these people twats or just ignorant?
