Should I do the speech test for my 3 year-old?

I have taken my 3 y.o daughter for a routine check-up. The pediatrician told me that I have to test her, because she was repeating the words she was saying. She has not been around kids of her age a lot, but she can speak clearly with limited vocabulary. She has no problems with vowels and syllables. My concern is that, if she fails the test, it will stay in her school records for years ( like elementary, preschools) and it will be difficult for her to get out of the special program. Apparently, the speech test is sent to the Board of Education. I want to to do the speech test, but if it has to be reported to the board of education i will rather get an independent therapist to do it. Can someone please explain to me the pros and cons of the test?
